Get Involved!

DTNA is an all-volunteer group. We’re able to keep making positive improvements to our neighborhood because so many wonderful people from around the neighborhood make time to volunteer in ways big and small. Want to work on an issue, or just meet your neighbors? Get involved. Here’s how:

Become a Member
As a member you get to vote on important issues in the neighborhood, from development proposals to policies and action plans. DTNA is funded by member dues, so your donation allows us to pay for the newsletter, events, etc that keep our neighborhood connected. Basic membership is only $20 a year.

Volunteer
Whatever your interest or skill set, there’s a volunteer opportunity for you:

• Newsletter distribution – Be part the loyal team that delivers the DTNA newsletter to 3,000 households every two months. You can do one block or many more. Contact: Tim Weeg, 415-863-1870.
• Newsletter Editing – People with editing expertise particularly encouraged. Contact: Betty Levitin
• Graphic design – We’re looking for people who can design a few small tools in the next few months. Contact: Kit Hodge
• Journalism/Blogging – Interview interesting people and dogs and/or profile events around the neighborhood for this blog as often as you can. Contact: Kit Hodge
• Membership Taskforce – Help us engage even more people in Duboce Triangle. Contact: Carmela Gold
• Event Planning – Like to throw parties? We need your help. Contact:
• Homeless Impact Taskforce – People with expertise in homelessness and addictions especially encouraged. Contact: Kit Hodge
• Land Use Committee – People with expertise in development, archecture, planning, etc, especially encouraged. Contact: Betty Levitin or Peter Cohen.
• Transportation Committee – People with expertise in placemaking, planning, economics, etc especially encouraged. Contact: Kit Hodge
• Board of Directors – Anyone can run for the DTNA board. Elections are held at the annual January member meeting; candidates are asked to submit their name for consideration ahead of time. Contact: Dennis Richards
• Special Projects – Keep your eyes on the blog for announcements about special projects that need help.
