From Friends of Duboce Park:
“Our next volunteer day is this Saturday, April 11, 10 a.m.-noon. We will meet at the Scott St. Labyrinth and will be supervised by a Rec & Park gardener. The plan is to spread wood chips and do some more planting, pruning, and weeding. All supplies, tools, and gloves are provided. 30 minutes or an hour of your time makes a big difference in the appearance of the park. We meet, rain or shine.”

I’ve always wondered how much of a difference it would make to volunteers, if all the tools provided were sharpened shovels, Felco handpruners, and razor-sharp Silky handsaws.
Tools can really change an experience.
Whenever I volunteered, I always brought my own tools, so its different from being someone borrowing from a stack of implements.
